Ola Electric recently unveiled its vision for India to be the global epicentre of EV transformation. After kickstarting India’s EV revolution last year with the launch of Ola S1 Pro scooters, Ola today has launched the all-new Ola S1 scooter. This will further accelerate EV penetration in the country. Ola claims a premium design, superior performance, best-in-class features and new-age connected technology with the Ola S1. Thus, making the S1 one of the most advanced scooters in its category.
What Is The Ola S1?
The S1 rides on with a 3 KWh Lithium-ion battery pack, with an ARAI-certified range of 141 km. Ola further claimed a true range of 101 km on Normal Mode, 128 km on Eco Mode, and 90 km on Sports Mode. The Ola S1 now comes with the updated MoveOS. Hence the scooter gets new features like Music Playback, Navigation, Companion App, and Reverse Mode. With a top speed of 95 Km/h, Ola S1 is also one of the fastest scooters in the segment. Customers can choose from diverse colour options. This includes Porcelain White, Jet Black, Neo Mint, Coral Glam and Liquid Silver. Ola has put on an introductory price of INR 99,999. This makes the scooter quite attractive with the value for money proposition.
Bookings And Deliveries Timeline
The reservations for early access to the new Ola S1 began yesterday. As is the same for Ola, customers can register their interest by paying INR 499 only. Customers who avail of early access will be able to make the final payment on 1st September. Meanwhile, for the others, the full payment window will open starting 2nd September.
Customers can book their Ola S1 directly from the Ola app. To facilitate a smooth buying experience, Ola is also offering easy finance options. Customers can choose from a total of 5 finance partners or any offline banking or financial institution of choice or even cash. With EMI starting at INR 2,999 and a loan processing fee waiver, Ola S1 is now much more accessible. Ola mentioned that the doorstep delivery for Ola S1 will begin from 7th September onwards.
Ola also mentioned its plans to update the software by releasing MoveOS 3 to everyone this Diwali. With the MoveOS 3, customers will get more added features. This includes moods, digital key sharing, proximity unlock, improved regen, documents on your scooter and many more.
Independence Day Ola S1 Pro Special Edition
On the occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day, Ola has introduced the ‘Freedom Edition’ of the Ola S1 Pro. For this, customers have the scooter in the new Khaki Green Colour. Ola also mentioned that the colour is inspired by the spirit of Independence. Furthermore, this limited edition scooter will also come with special decals and get a unique seat cover. Pricing starts at INR 1,49,000 (ex-showroom). Ola also mentioned that they will commission only ‘1947’ units of this limited edition scooter. Customers can buy The ‘Freedom Edition’ via the Ola app.
Ola’s Ambitious Electric 4-Wheeler Project
Ola has unveiled its 4W project with the first public reveal of a car. The company claims this as the best performance, design, and technology ever built in India. Ola’s debut four-wheeler vehicle will have a long list of features and specs. The confirmed timeline for a debut is set in the summer of 2024. Ola claims a 0-100 kmph sprint within 4 seconds, making it a really fast car. As far as the range is concerned, the company is targeting to breach the threshold of 500km/charge.
With a drag coefficient of less than 0.21, Ola’s car will be the sportiest car ever built in India with an all-glass roof. The car will get one of the most advanced computers in a 4W, assisted driving capabilities, keyless, handless doors and much more. Like the scooters, this car will also run on Ola’s very own MoveOS software. Thus car owners will receive regular feature updates OTA throughout their ownership span.
