American car manufacturer, Ford has announced that the brand will unveil the next-generation Ford Endeavour in the international market on 1st March 2022. The Ford Endeavour is marketed as the Ford Everest in the international market and was also sold in India. However, in September 2021, Ford India announced that the company is winding down its manufacturing operations in the Indian market with immediate effect. With Ford shutdown in India, the Endeavour was also phased-out once existing dealer inventories are sold.
Ford Endeavour (Everest) – Teaser
Ford South Africa has revealed a teaser video on the official YouTube channel which gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the near future. The next-generation Ford Endeavour is likely to be based on the Ford Ranger Pick-up platform and come with four-wheel drive technology. The teaser also reveals that Ford Endeavour will come with C-shaped LED DRLs and projector headlamps.
The new Ford Endeavour is likely to come with an upright front fascia and a muscular bonnet along with a large grille. The SUV is also likely to feature flared rounded wheel arches, a progressive roofline and an impressive glasshouse. On the rear, the Endeavour is likely to come with wrap-around LED taillamps and high bumpers to aid the angle of approach and departure. The large SUV also comes with a large step board to aid the ingress and egress of occupants.
Ford Endeavour (Everest) – Powertrain
In the international markets, Ford is likely to equip the new Ford Endeavour (Everest) with a 2.0-litre diesel engine along with a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Top-spec variants may also come with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and also four-wheel drive. More details on the powertrain will be available closer to the launch.
Ford Endeavour (Everest) – Will The Ford Endeavour Come Back to India?
Recently, we reported that Ford is likely to restart manufacturing in India, under the government of India’s PLI scheme. Rumours also suggest that Ford could bring the new generation Endeavour to the Indian market via the CBU route.
