Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Good news for the ones looking to get the Yamaha R15. The motorcycle is all set to get some tweaks and updates. As per a recent spy picture, the motorcycle will now come with a new TFT display. The updated R15 will arrive on the market on February 13, alongside the Yamaha MT-15. This motorcycle too gets some updates which is a dual-channel ABS set-up.

What Does The Spy Shots Reveal About The Motorcycle?

The model of the R15 seen in the images reveals the new TFT display. But it is unclear whether the TFT display is exclusive to this top-spec variant or whether the lower variants will get it as well. As of now, the Yamaha R15 is only available with an LCD display.

Upon close scrutiny of the TFT display, we find that it looks similar to the one on the Yamaha R1 superbike. The R15’s new TFT display will show all the relevant riding statistics such as revs, speed, gear position, etc. In fact, it will also get a lap timer display. As per 2023 standards, we also expect that the R15 gets Bluetooth connectivity. Besides the new display, the motorcycle also has LED indicators, which could be standard fitment on the R15 M.

Other than these updates, chances are high that we do not see any changes to the mechanicals of the bike. Thus, the motorcycle will continue with its 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 18.4 HP and 14.2Nm.

Yamaha R15 Is A Popular Choice In The 150-cc Segment

Given the popularity of the motorcycle, R15 is a top choice in the 150cc segment. After the aforementioned updates, the motorcycle becomes even more desirable and will attract more attention. In the R15’s price segment, customers have a host of options to choose from. This includes Hero Xtreme 200S, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda CB 200X, Hero Impulse 200 BS6, KTM Duke 200, KTM RC 125, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Yamaha R15 V4, and KTM RC 200.
