MY23 Maruti Suzuki Swift gets ESP as standard

Big news from the house of Maruti Suzuki India. The country’s largest carmaker has now announced that its third best-selling model the Swift will now get ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard on all variants. This 2023 model year update has been given to Swift’s entire lineup. Alongside this, with its premium hatchback sibling, Baleno’s all variants also get this feature as standard. Before this, only the top-of-the-line ZXi Plus variant of the hatchback came with the ESP feature.

Swift Is One Of The Best Seller From India’s Largest Carmaker

The current third-generation of the hatcback has been on sale since 2018. The nameplate Swift has been the bread and butter for Maruti Suzuki. In fact, it is also one of the all-time best sellers from Maruti Suzuki based on the brand’s HEARTECT platform. The top-spec trims of the Swift come loaded with a long list of features. This includes Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment system which has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The hatchback also gets keyless entry, push-button start, automatic climate control, 60:40 split rear seats, and a larger boot.

Crucial Updates Keep Swift In The Competition

Earlier in 2021 the Swift got a mid-life facelift and got even more exciting. The major update in the Swift facelift as part of this update was its engine. The popular hatchback received a more powerful 1.2-litre DualJet petrol K12N motor which was available with the Baleno. This motor makes a maximum power of 89 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. It was an increase of 7 PS from the prior model. The Swift comes with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options. For manual we get a 5-speed unit. And for automatic we get a 5-speed AMT.

For the exterior, the Swift got an updated front profile. It gets a new honeycomb mesh grille and chrome slat dissecting through it. The headlamps too got a new design that was very similar to the prior iteration. Maruti Suzuki also made some changes to the bumper.
