Maruti Suzuki Baleno, XL6 & Ertiga get new features via software update

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Good news for the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Ertiga and XL6 owners. The company has rolled out new features via an OTA update. As a part of this, the cars now get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition to this, Maruti Suzuki has enabled ESC (electronic stability control) a standard fitment on most models. The connectivity features are available to both existing as well as new customers via over-the-air (OTA) updates.  Customers can instal it via the SmartPlay Pro Sync app on their smartphones or from Maruti Suzuki’s website.

What Are The New Updates In Each Model?

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

After the update, the Baleno is now available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is applicable only for the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha trims. Furthermore, Maruti has also included a new turn-by-turn navigation feature on the head-up display for the top-spec Alpha trim of the Baleno. Thus, for the models without the HUD,  this feature will reflect on the MID on all trims. The price range for the Baleno currently falls in the INR 6.56 lakh to INR 9.83 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga & XL6

Similar to what we saw with Baleno, the XL6 too benefits from wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the top Alpha and Alpha+ trims. Meanwhile, the Ertiga only gets it on the top-spec ZXi+ trim. Then we have the turn-by-turn navigation feature which is shown via the MID in the instrument cluster.

Both MPVs now feature premium acoustic tuning for the Arkamys sound system. This has also been made available via OTA updates. The Ertiga currently retails in the price range of INR 8.49 lakh to 12.93 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the XL6, which is essentially a premium Ertiga, falls in the price range of INR 11.41 lakh to INR 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom).

ESC Is Now A Standard Feature

As a part of this update, the most important addition is the ESC. Maruti Suzuki has now made ESC a standard safety fitment across most of its range of models. Thus, all trims of the Baleno, Ertiga and Swift are now ESC enabled. The Baleno and Ertiga, additionally, also benefit from the hill-hold feature on all trims. Meanwhile, Swift only gets it on the AMT variants.
