Hyundai has given subtle updates for the Alcazar SUV. As a part of this, the 7-seater SUV now gets more safety features in the base trims. Another key highlight is that Hyundai has also slightly tweaked the engines of the Alcazar. Hyundai has done this to comply with the upcoming emissions norms.
Further, both engines are now BS6 stage 2, RDE compliant.
The Alcazar is based on the Creta, which we all know has been a run-away success for Hyundai. Right from the first-generation Creta, the car has sold in good numbers and has been a segment leader. Now with competition looming, Hyundai decided to launch a 7-seater based on the popular car. To differentiate it further, Hyundai equipped it with a larger 2.0-litre petrol engine
What are the changes in the Hyundai Alcazar SUV?
After this update, Hyundai Alcazar is now available with six airbags across the range. Previously, only the driver and passenger airbags were standard. The side and curtain airbags were available from the platinum trim onwards.
Likewise, Hyundai is also including an integrated starter generator (ISG) in the Alcazar. This will enable the start-stop functionality and help increase the fuel efficiency of the SUV. The South Korean manufacturer says that all engines available with the Alcazar are now compliant with the new emissions standards. These are the latest Bharat Stage 6 2.0 norms. Moreover, this update will also enable the SUV to run on a 20 per cent petrol-ethanol blend (E20).
Hyundai Alcazar SUV Engine Options
As for the engine options, Alcazar gets a 159 HP, 191 Nm 2.0-litre petrol engine. The second option is a 115 HP, 250 Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both get either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Prices for the Alcazar start at INR 16.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers looking to get the Alcazar can also look at Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700.
