BMW has launched the 2023 X5 SUV in India. The X5 LCI is offered in two options – xLine and M Sport with prices starting from INR 93.90 lakh, ex-showroom.
As part of the facelift, the BMW X5 now has received few upgrades. These include a new kidney grille with illumination, matrix adaptive LED headlamps, reworked rear bumpers and tail lamps. BMW is offering 21-inch alloys as standard.
Customers opting for the M Sport will get an M-specific front apron, black roof rails, a gloss Shadowline trim, Dark Shadow inlay work and trapezoidal exhaust tips in the rear.
On the inside, the car now gets a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Both these are placed in a large curved display. The infotainment display runs off the BMW iDrive 8.0 version. Noteworthy features on the inside include a head-up display supporting augmented reality and a large panoramic sunroof.
BMW also offers adaptive air suspension with a self levelling function on the SUV.
BMW is offering both petrol and diesel engines with the new X5. The xDrive40i comes with a 3-litre, straight-six petrol engine. This unit develops 375 BHP @ 5,200-6,250 rpm and 520 Nm @ 1,850-5,000 rpm.
Meanwhile the xDrive30d comes with a 3-litre diesel engine. It is rated at 282 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 650 Nm @ 1,500-2,500 rpm. In both the engines, power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Some of the safety features on the car include Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional with Surround View Camera and Drive Recorder. The X5 also gets a host of Driver assistance systems including remote parking via smartphone and Reversing Assistant.
