MY22 Maruti Suzuki Baleno bookings cross 50,000 milestone

One of India’s best-selling carmakers, Maruti Suzuki, has announced that its 2022 Baleno has crossed 50,000 bookings across India. This milestone is definitely a sense of achievement for the brand as it launched its all-new Baleno in February 2022. Another interesting fact about the Baleno is that it had crossed 25,000 bookings prior to its price announcements. A month since its debut, the all-new Baleno has been one of the most talked-about premium hatchbacks in India.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: An Overview 

Priced at INR 6.35 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2022 Baleno features an all-new exterior design with a plethora of updates. Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno in 4 variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha whereby the top-spec trim gets multiple features. The ‘New Age’ Baleno now sports redesigned, sweptback LED headlamps with segmented NexTre DRLs and a NexWave front grille. Along with a progressive roofline, the premium hatchback also sports C-shaped taillights, reprofiled bumpers and dynamic 3D shoulders.

Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Baleno with new, precision-cut alloy wheels and chrome detailing on the front/back. The Baleno’s design now resonates with the Maruti Suzuki NEXA’s ‘Crafted Futurism’ philosophy and sports seven vivid colour options. These include Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Opulent Red, Nexa Blue and Luxe Beige. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki has ensured to revamp the interior of the Baleno with the focus on technology-based features for convenience.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Technical Specs & Features 

Powering the 2022 Baleno is a single 1.2-litre, Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with mild-hybrid technology. Overall, this motor produces 90 PS and 113 Nm via a 5-speed manual or 5-speed, Automated Manual Transmission (AGS). The automaker has also equipped the Baleno with an Idle Start/Stop system that allows it to showcase best-in-class mileage figures. Maruti Suzuki claims that the manual variant offers 22.35 kmpl of mileage, whereas the AGS variant offers 22.94 kmpl.

Speaking of features, the 2022 Baleno comes with a segment-first, heads-up display that offers crucial vehicle information for the driver. Additionally, the premium hatchback now features a segment-first, 360-degree parking camera that eases manoeuvrability and keeps track of surroundings. Along with an enlarged 9-inch, SmartPlay+ touchscreen infotainment system, the Baleno gets an ARKAMYS premium sound system and Voice Assist. Other convenient features include the connected car tech that includes vehicle safety security, trips & driving behaviour, status-alerts, and remote operations.
