Kawasaki has launched the MY22 Kawasaki Versys 1000 in the European market. Team Green has reshuffled the variant line-up for the Model Year 2022, and now the Versys 1000 is available in three variants. The brand is offering the Versys in a Standard, S and SE trim. The previous standard trim is now the ‘S’ trim, and the brand has introduced a new entry-level Standard Versys 1000 for budding adventure riders. The grand tourer also gets a top-of-the-line SE trim which comes with higher-specification running gear. However, the brand has not made any changes to the design of the Versys 1000.
The Kawasaki Versys 1000 entry-level standard model now comes for GBP 10,399 MSRP. The motorcycle comes without and electric rider aids and TFT instruments. But the brand offers a larger windscreen, heated grips and covers as optional accessories. The S trim is now what was earlier known as the standard and comes with a price tag of GBP 13,099 MSRP. The brand now also offers an SE trim that comes with over-the-top features such as electronically damped Showa Skyhook suspension and other rider aids. Kawasaki offers the top-spec SE with a price tag of GBP 14,999 MSRP. The brand also offers the Grand Tourer with larger panniers and comfortable features for the pillion at the price of GBP 16,699 MSRP.
The Kawasaki Versys 100 comes with a 1,043cc in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 120 PS of power and 102 Nm of torque. The DOHC engine features a 6-speed return type transmission with a wet multi-plate assist & slipper clutch. The Versys 1000 also comes with 43 mm front upside-down forks with a long 150mm travel and adjustable pre-load, rebound and damping. The bike also comes with a horizontal back-link gas-charged monoshock.
Kawasaki retails the 2021 Versys 1000 in the Indian market with a price tag of INR 11.55 lakh ex-showroom. The brand is likely to bring the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 1000 to India next year. Internationally the motorcycle will start retailing from January 2022.
