Mini added a major milestone product to its portfolio. The German carmaker is celebrating its motorsport history with the launch of the 2024 Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition. This product will only retail just 999 units worldwide. The key talking point is that the hot hatch will retail exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
In an attempt to create the limited-edition model, Mini first made some changes to the front end. This includes the fitment of a new grille with a large air intake. We also see a Piano Black surround. For the hatchback, we also see it feature side scuttles and a waistline finished clad in Piano Black. This perfectly complements the exterior colour of the hot hatchback which is available exclusively in Midnight Black.
There’s also a silver racing stripe with a peculiar intricate design running across the hood, roof, wing, and tailgate of the car. We also get to see graphics unique to the 1to6 Edition. A set of 18-inch Circuit Spoke wheels in Jet Black further add to the overall outlook of the hatchback and make it look even more complete alongside the black badges.
Come inside and there are more surprises. Customers will appreciate the door sills with a special 1to6 logo. Mini has also equipped the hatchback with black lettering that reads ‘One of 999’ on the left-hand side of the steering wheel. Then we have a beautifully-finished manual shifter. The driver will definitely take attention to this. Trimmed in leather with red stitching, this manual stick is a joy to use. To further add up the excitement, there’s a ‘One of 999’ graphic on the sunroof.
Other key highlights include an instrument cluster with a bright red bezel, red ambient lighting, and an Anthracite-coloured headliner. We also see a special limited-edition emblem on the lower spoke of the Nappa leather sports steering wheel.
The hatchback uses the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder as the standard model. This motor makes about 231 HP. In terms of performance, the new Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition can do the 0 to 100 kmph run in 6.3 seconds.
