MG Motor and Tata Power have installed a new charging station in Coimbatore. It will be the city’s first 60 kW superfast public electric vehicle charging station. This setup is under the joint initiative taken by MG and Tata power to set up 50 kW and 60 kW DC superfast charging stations across India. Recently, MG had deployed a 60 kW super-fast charging station in Agra under the #NHforEV2020 campaign.

Tata Power has built a robust EV infrastructure with over 270+ charging points across 26 cities and plans to spread the EV ecosystem to other cities as well. The MG-Tata Power partnership looks into enhancing the customer experience of owning an electric vehicle as both the carmakers have launched their electric vehicles namely; Tata Nexon EV and MG AS EV. The fast development of the charging stations is very crucial to make India a forerunner in the electric vehicle market segment.

The EV charging station set up in Coimbatore is open to all the electric vehicles which are equipped with CCS fast-charging. The  MG ZS EV can be charged up to 80% of its full capacity in under 50 minutes. The MG ZS EV is priced at INR 20.88 lakhs (ex-showroom pan-India) and as of now, MG claims that it has delivered close to 1,100 units of ZS EVs in just one year from its launch. For the peace of mind, MG is offering a free-of-cost 8years/1,50,000 km warranty on the batteries, 5-year manufacturer warranty and roadside assistance for 5 years for the ZS EV. MG is also offering a free-of-cost AC fast-charger to be installed at the customer’s home or office for the convenience of the customers.
