MG Motors (Morris Garages) has listed the MG Hector Plus on the official Indian website indicating that the brand is ready to launch the larger 7-seater version of the popular MG Hector. The MG Hector Plus distinguishes itself by having a few changes on the exteriors and 3 rows of seats on its inside but is expected to come with the same powertrain as the standard Hector.

MG Motors showcased the Hector Plus at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi, before the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic was imposed and the company a couple of weeks ago announced that it had commenced production of this new version at their Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat and even in the pandemic the brand has been able to cope up with the production demands assuming the launch timeline is on track.

The MG Hector Plus appears similar to the standard sibling but distinguishes itself with redesigned headlamps and taillamps, a reworked grille and slight changes on the LED daytime running lights. But the major difference is in the cabin which is expected to come with a configurable 2+2+2 or 2+3+2 versions with captain seats being offered in the middle row.

In the engine department, MG launched the Hector with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional DCT gearbox, a petrol-hybrid motor with a Belt Starter Generator matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hector Plus is expected to come with all these engine configurations.

On the equipment front, the MG Hector Plus is likely to carry forward features such as 10.4-inch vertically oriented infotainment system, 7-inch coloured MID, 8 ambient colour lighting, flat foldable second-row seats, rain-sensing wiper, powered tailgate, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, fatigue reminder setting, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, etc.
