Bad news if you are looking to get the MG Hector. The British carmaker has hiked the prices for a selected range of models in its product range. The updated prices are applicable with immediate effect. The models that have received this price hike include the Astor, Hector, Hector Plus, and Gloster. In this article, we will have a closer look at the changes to the Hector SUV.
MG Hector Price Hike Details
First we will talk about the entry-level Style 1.5 turbo-petrol MT trim of the MG Hector. This trim has witnessed a price hike of INR 27,000. As a result of this, the prices of the model now start at INR 15 lakh. Similarly, all the diesel trims have now got pricer by INR 61,000. After the price hike, the top-spec MG Hector retails with a price tag of INR 22.12 lakh. All prices mentioned above are in the ex-showroom.
Shine Variants Makes A Comeback To Hector Lineup
Further, MG has added back the Shine variant to the Hector lineup. Customers can have the Hector Shine variant in three versions. These are, namely, Petrol MT, Petrol CVT, and Diesel MT. These trims retail with a price tag of INR 16.34 lakh, INR 17.54 lakh, and INR 18.59 lakh respectively. Customers can have the MG Hector in two engine options.
Engine And Gearbox Options
The first one is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm. Meanwhile, the second engine option is a 2.0-litre diesel unit that makes 168 BHP and 350 Nm. Customers have two transmission options, namely a 6-speed manual and CVT. With Hector, MG has made a name for itself. There’s a growing demand for SUVs in the Indian market. Hector has done pretty well. In fact, Hector is the nameplate that created the perception of MG as the brand we see today in the Indian market.
