MG India has officially announced the prices of the Hector facelift. Prices start from INR 14.72 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.5-litre petrol manual Style trim. The top-of-the-line trim is set at INR 22.42 lakh (ex-showroom), for the 1.5-litre petrol turbo Savvy Pro trim with the ADAS kit. The brand recently showcased the SUV, which now gets an updated exterior and interior, along with new feature updates.

MG Hector Facelift Key Highlights

Exterior Design

The Hector facelift features a reworked front end with an argyle-inspired large diamond-mesh grille. The chrome inserts and surround further add to the touch. The overall profile remains pretty much the same. In fact, the updated MG Hector also retains the same alloy wheel design. To distinguish the new Hector, one has to come to the rear end. This is where the SUV gets noticeable updates in the form of LED inserts which connect the tail lamps and the prominent ‘Hector’ badging.

Interiors

The interior of the Hector facelift too gets a slew of updates. The most significant one is the addition of a new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which is such a convenient feature to have. Other interior highlights include an updated dashboard that gets a double-layered design, horizontally positioned D-shaped AC vents and a revised centre console with a new stack of physical buttons. The 7.0-inch digital driver display now also gets new graphics.

Engines Options And ADAS Tech

The Hector facelift gets Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which is currently the trend in the market. This technology adds safety features like lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and lane departure warning. The SUV also benefits from a feature Traffic Jam Assist. With this activated, it helps the SUV stop and go when it senses slow-moving traffic ahead.

As far as the engine options are concerned, it continues with the same 143 HP, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. This is available with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. Interestingly, the MG Hector facelift does not get the mild-hybrid powertrain. The diesel engine also remains the same which is a 170 HP, 2.0-litre unit that does the duty in the Harrier, Safari and Compass. This diesel engine is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, thus a diesel automatic is not on offer, which is a bummer.
