Earlier in 2018, Mercedes-Benz launched the C-Class facelift in India. While the car back then came with 2 diesel engine options, the German luxury car manufacturer has now added a petrol engine to the variant list. This 1.5L petrol engined C-Class has been priced at INR 43.46 lakh ex-showroom, and is available in a single C200 Progressive variant.
Powering the C-Class facelift petrol is a 1.5L, M264 motor which is a 4-cylinder block producing 184 PS of power between 5800-6100 RPM and 280 Nm of torque between 3000-4000 RPM matched to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is a hybrid motor which is coupled to a 48-volt battery system which offers additional 10 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. Because of this hybrid tech, the C-Class benefits from Zero-emissions coasting.
This is the first time a hybrid system in the C-Class has been introduced in India.
Other features in terms of exterior and interior trims remain more of less the same, as per segment standards.
