Maruti Suzuki has crossed yet another milestone, but this time, with the WagonR hatchback. Launched in 2000, the WagonR has managed to cross the 15 lakh sales mark.
For FY14, Maruti managed to sell 1.56 lakh units of the WagonR. For FY15, the brand has already managed to clock 93,000 units of the hatchback.
The WagonR is powered by a 1.0L, K10 petrol motor producing 69 PS of power. Engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the company is already working on an AMT equipped variant.
Another reason for the cars popularity was the availability of dual-fuel options. Currently the WagonR is available in CNG guise as well which was successfully propelling sales when fuel prices were on a constant rise.
Too make the WagonR brand even bigger, Maruti is also working on a crossover type variant which has been spied recently, dubbed as the XRest.
