Maruti Suzuki sold 1,39,347 cars in December 2022

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has released its sales report for December 2022. India’s largest carmaker posted a total sales of 139,347 units for the given period. For December 2022, domestic sales stood at 113,535 units. Meanwhile, the sales to other OEMs stood at 4,016 units. The export figure for the company stood at 21,796 units for the given period. Maruti Suzuki restated the fact related to the shortage of electronic components. Although this had a minor impact on the production of vehicles, this was mainly for domestic models. However, Maruti Suzuki mentioned that it is taking all necessary measures to minimise the impact and ramp up production.

Detailed Sales Breakup – Maruti Suzuki India

For the Mini segment that comprises S-Presso and Alto, the company sold a total of 9,765 units. Meanwhile, in the Compact segment, which accounts for the maximum sales, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 57,502 units. This segment includes the top sellers namely, Swift, Dzire, Baleno Celerio, Ignis, Tour S, and WagonR.

Sales for Maruti Suzuki’s mid-size segment offering, for which we only have the Ciaz, stood at 1,154 units. In the Utility vehicles segment, which includes Ertiga, Brezza S-Cross, and XL6, Maruti Suzuki sold 33,008 units. Eeco, which falls under the Van segment, sold a total of 10,581 units of sales. Adding all, Maruti Suzuki posted a total sales of 112,010 units for its entire passenger vehicle segment in the Indian domestic market.

Super Carry, which falls under the Light Commercial Vehicle segment, sold a total of 1,525 units. Thus, measuring both passenger and light commercial vehicles, the total Domestic Sales for Maruti Suzuki stood at 113,535 units.

Furthermore, with the launch of the all-new Brezza and the Grand Vitara, the SUV segment is heating up. This is further proved by the growing sales figure for the SUV segment. On the other hand, Marut Suzuki is taking the CNG lineup of products on priority. To support this, the company launched a slew of CNG versions.
