Maruti Suzuki sold 1,38,335 cars in October 2021

Maruti Suzuki announces its sales report for October 2021. India’s largest car manufacturer posted a total sales of 1,38,335 units for the given month. This includes 1,12,788 units of domestic sales, 4,225 units to other OEMs and exports of 21,332 units. Maruti Suzuki also mentioned the shortage of electronic components, which is hampering the production of vehicles. But, given this is a long time ongoing issue, Maruti Suzuki has taken steps to mitigate the impact.

Detailed Sales Analysis

In the mini segment that includes the likes of Alto and S-Presso, the company posted sales of 21,831 units for October 2021. The figure for the same period last year stood at 28,462 units. The Compact segment comprises Baleno, Celerio, Dzire Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR and makes up for the maximum of the sales. This segment sold a total of 48,690 units for October 2021, as against 95,067 units in October 2020. In the mid-size segment, that includes the like of Ciaz sold a total of 1,069 units. The figure for October 2020 stood at 1,422 units. Ertiga, Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 complete the Utility Vehicle segment. This accounted for 27,081 units for October 2021, up from 25,396 units in October 2020.

The Van segment that currently includes the Eeco, sold a total of 10,320 units for October 2021. The figure for the same period last year stood at 13,309 units. This makes up the domestic passenger vehicle segment, and the sales count stood at 108,991 units. Meanwhile, the figure for the same period last year was 1,63,656 units. The commercial segment includes the Super Carry, which sold a total of 3,797 units in October 2021, up from 3,169 units in October 2020. For this month, Maruti Suzuki posted its highest ever exports, which stood at 21,322 units.

Maruti Suzuki To Introduce Flex Fuel Vehicles Soon

Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce ethanol-powered cars. As per the latest reports, the company is readying itself to leverage the Indian Government push for flex-fuel. This will make the vehicles much more environmentally friendly without much investment and changes to the mechanicals of the engine. These fuels are already in much use in the US, Canada and Brazil. And soon, we can expect India to also be a part of the list.
