Skoda India releases its sales report for October 2021. For the given month, the carmaker sold a total of 3,065 units as opposed to 1,421 units for October 2020. And hence the company registered year-over-year growth of 116 per cent. Skoda mentioned that Kushaq has been the top-selling product and has received over 15,000 bookings so far. Along with Kushaq, the sales figures for Superb, Octavia and Rapid are also on the rise. With the implementation of the ‘India 2.0’ plan at full flow, the Volkswagen Group is increasingly expanding its dealership network. The current dealership count stands at 100, with more coming up as we write this.

Skoda Slavia To Arrive Soon

Leveraging the ‘India 2.0’ Projet, Skoda India is all set to introduce a new sedan into the market. As it stands, Slavia will replace the Rapid and lock its horn with the other C-segment sedans currently on sale. This includes the segment leader Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the upcoming Toyota Belta and likes.

Based on the localised MQB-AO-IN platform, the sedan will share a lot of parts with the Kushaq. And it is also expected to come with the same engine and powertrain options. The exterior design will have the typical Skoda like design which is simple yet elegant. With the influx of SUVs in the market, the sedan segment is witnessing a decreasing trend in sales. But Skoda, with the introduction of the Slavia, aims to revive the sales and revamp the demand in this segment.
