Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the commercial version of the Dzire sedan, the Tour S. In total, the brand is recalling 166 units of the Tour S. The recall is due to a faulty Airbag Control Unit or ACU.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S Recall – The Problem & Solution
According to Maruti Suzuki, a total of 166 Dzire Tour S manufactured between 6th August and 16th August are affected. Maruti Suzuki says there is a possibility that there could be a defect with the ACU. If it is, in rare cases might not function as intended during airbag deployment. Importantly, even though it is not affecting a large number of vehicles, there have been no reports of any incidents due to this issue.
Maruti Suzuki will notify owners about the recall and are requested not to drive their cars until authorised Maruti Suzuki workshops replace the defective ACU. Maruti Suzuki will do this free of cost.
Customers can also check if their vehicle is among those under the recall by visiting the Maruti Suzuki website. To check, they must enter ‘MA3’ and the 14-digit alphanumeric chassis number.
Other Updates
Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce more SUVs in its Indian lineup. The brand’s market share has taken a hit, given the increasing popularity of SUVs over hatchbacks and sedans. The brand’s latest SUV, the Brezza, is off to a good start. Also, the Grand Vitara, which the brand will launch soon, is all set to be the only hybrid option in its segment. Apart from this, the brand is working on a coupe-styled crossover. Rumour mill also suggests that there is a new three-row premium SUV to take on the Hyundai Alcazar in the pipeline.
In other news, the brand has started working on E85-compliant engines. However, there’s no confirmation when the E85-compliant will be available. The manufacturer did confirm that all of its models will be E20-compliant by April 2024.
