Maruti Suzuki Invicto fully revealed before launch in spy shots

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Prices of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Invicto MPV are expected to be revealed on 5th July 2023. Now, ahead of its launch, the car has been spotted in dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto reaching dealerships

Toyota will be manufacturing the Invicto alongside the Innova Hycross at its manufacturing facility in Bidadi outside of Bangalore, Karnataka. While the Invicto is a badge-engineered version of the Innova Hycross, the Japanese carmaker has differentiated the car by few cosmetic elements. These include a new grille with horizontal slats, reworked front bumper and new LED DRLs. The car also comes with a different alloy wheel design.

Maruti is positioning the Invicto as a premium model, hence is likely to be offered only in the top-spec trim just like the Jimny SUV. However, it is possible that it will miss out on some of the features like a few advanced ADAS features, JBL surround sound system, powered tailgate and powered driver’s seat.

Powertrain of the Maruti Suzuki Invicto

Maruti plans to offer only the hybrid powertrain with the Invicto. This unit consists of a 2.0-litre NA petrol engine and an electric motor jointly rated at 183 BHP. Transmission duties are done by an e-CVT gearbox.

Maruti’s premium range of vehicles

The Invicto could also make way for other premium vehicles from the Maruti stable. Maruti is known for its mass market offerings and to shy away from this image, the Invicto could be a catalyst. If done right, we could definitely expect other premium vehicles like the three-row Grand Vitara to make its way to our shores. Customers can already book the car after paying a token amount of INR 25,000. With this new offering, Maruti will be venturing out into the higher priced segment. This product would be a departure from Maruti’s usual strategy of launching mass market vehicles
