Bentley has announced the completion of the Batur grand tourer vehicle development program. This means that the car now meets the highest standards of durability and performance. The British carmaker will now start with the production of custom cars.

Bentley Batur development program

Bently has manufactured two development vehicles. Known as the Car Zero and Car Zero-Zero, these have been used for real world testing, high speed tests over 320 km/h, over 600 hours of solar loading and more. Further, all these tests have ensured that the various sustainable materials used in the car’s performance will last for the car’s lifetime.

The Car Zero features identical craftsmanship as the customer cars. It gets a purple sector exterior shade along with front splitters, side skirts and rear diffuser finished in a high gloss natural fibre finish. The matrix grille is finished in gloss dark titanium and complemented by contrast chevrons. Meanwhile the bonnet is finished in satin titanium while the 22-inch alloys get gloss and satin black crystal finish.

The Car Zero-Zero meanwhile comes with a Mariana Teal finish.

Both the cars were tested extensively including a 2,500 km European tour. Additionally, the car maker has tested over 800 unique and one-off components for this car over 160 weeks of development work.

Bentley Batur : More Details

Only 18 units of the Batur are going to be produced. The car was first showcased at the 2022 Monterey Car Week. The Bentley Batur follows in the footsteps of the Bacalar convertible – the luxury carmaker’s one off coach built projects.

The Batur is based on the Continental GT Speed. It uses the same 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine. This motor develops 730 HP and over 1000 Nm of torque. This makes the Batur one of the fastest road-going Bentleys ever made. The extra power is thanks to revised components like air intake, upgraded turbochargers and intercoolers as well software tweaked transmission, stability control amongst others.
