Maruti Suzuki Alto crosses 40 lakh cumulative sales milestone

Indo-Japanese car major, Maruti Suzuki India is celebrating the cumulative sales of 40 lakh Maruti Suzuki Alto, the brand’s entry-level small hatchback. The Maruti Suzuki Alto with its remarkable sales figure has been crowned as India’s bestselling car. The brand has revealed that the Maruti Suzuki Alto is the preferred choice of Indian car buyers with 76% of Alto customers choosing it as their first car. 

The Maruti Suzuki Alto has been upgraded in a timely fashion and providing mobility to 40 lakh families in India and positions itself as the undisputed leader in the Indian car market for 16 consecutive years since its launch in the year 2000. The Alto also became India’s first entry-level car to transition into BS6 standards along with the latest crash and pedestrian safety regulation. The small-car is also revered for its fuel efficiency of 22.05 km/l for Petrol and 31.56 km/kg for CNG.

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Alto is the BS6 emissions-compliant F8D 800cc 3-cylinder, 12-valve petrol engine that produces 47.3 hp of maximum power mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The Maruti Suzuki Alto is 3445mm in length, 1490mm in width, 1475mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2360mm.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto features Smart Play Dock, a new infotainment system which can connect to the user’s phone and transform it into a touch interface with access to calls, music, navigation. The Alto also features tubeless tyres, adjustable headlamps, power steering, front power windows, remote keyless entry, air-conditioner with heater, Bluetooth connectivity etc 

In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki Alto comes with ABS and EBD along with other features such as driver-side airbag, over-speed alert system, seat belt reminders for both driver and front passenger and reverse parking sensor.
