There’s some bad news for the ones planning to buy the Mahindra XUV300. The compact SUV from Mahindra becomes costlier by up to INR 39,000. There’s no official announcement regarding the same. Thus, we are not sure why Mahindra chose to hike the price of the SUV. Not only this, reports suggest that Mahindra has deleted some of the features as well. As far as we know, XUV300 now won’t come with a three-point seat belt for the middle passenger in the rear seat. It will get the standard lap belt as present in most of the cars. The heated ORVM function is also missing, which was one of the quirky features of the SUV.

Updated Price For The XUV300

The price of the petrol variants now cost around INR 1,000 to INR 36,000 (ex-showroom) more when compared to the older pricing. The diesel trim will now be dearer by almost INR 27,000 to INR 39,000 (ex-showroom), depending upon the variant. After the updated price, the petrol trim lies in the price bracket of INR 7.96 lakh to INR 12.13 lakh. The diesel trim now retails between INR 8.97 lakh and INR 12.94 lakh. All the prices mentioned are in ex-showroom.

Mahindra XUV300 – Engine And Powertrain Options

The petrol engine in XUV300 is a turbocharged unit that makes 109 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre diesel power mill belts out 117 HP and produces 300 Nm of torque. Both the engines have two gearbox options, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. This SUV competes in one of the hotly contested segments, i.e. the compact SUV.

Currently, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza are the top-selling products in the SUV category. The other cars in this segment include the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Mangite, Renault Kiger and more. Given the demand for automatic transmission in India, Mahindra had the AMT gearbox very recently.
