In a notable development, one of India’s leading SUV automobile manufacturers, Mahindra and Mahindra, has released its sales figures for October 2023, revealing impressive results. During the past month, the company successfully retailed 43,708 SUVs, showcasing a substantial year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth of 35 per cent.
Comparing these figures to the corresponding period last year, where the automaker sold 32,298 units, this demonstrates a significant increase in demand for Mahindra’s SUV offerings. The company’s commitment to excellence extends beyond domestic sales, with 1,854 SUV units exported to international markets, further enhancing its global presence. Additionally, Mahindra achieved significant sales success in the commercial vehicle segment, with 25,715 units sold in the previous month, highlighting its diverse portfolio.
In a forward-looking move, Mahindra has also homologated the Thar.e, an upcoming five-door electric SUV with high expectations in the Indian market. Set to debut on Indian roads in early 2026, this eco-friendly SUV is anticipated to feature a 60kWh battery pack, aligning with the industry’s shift toward electric mobility.
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd also expressed their insights on these remarkable sales figures. In October, the brand clocked the highest-ever volumes at 80,679 vehicles, a growth of 32 per cent. SUVs and CVs achieved the highest-ever volumes for the third consecutive month at 43,708 and 25,715 vehicles, respectively. The solid festive demand should see Mahindra continue its growth momentum in November. Thus, the company will keep a close watch on select supply-related challenges.
Mahindra’s consistent growth and innovative approach to future mobility solutions, exemplified by the Thar.e electric SUV, position the company as a formidable force in India’s automotive industry. With strong sales performance, the automaker is well-poised to capitalize on the increasing demand for SUVs and electric vehicles in the coming years.
