Mahindra sold 40,403 cars in March 2021

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. announces its report for the month of March 2021. The company sold 40,403 units which comprise passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and exports up from 6,679 units in March 2020. In the passenger vehicle segment, comprising utility vehicles, cars and vans, Mahindra and Mahindra registered a cumulative sales of 16,700 vehicles for March 2021 as against 3,383 units for the same period last year, which translates to a growth of 394 per cent. In terms of export, the company exported 2,126 units in the 2020 financial year as compared to 554 last year, which is a 284 per cent change. The company mentioned that its range of SUVs having the likes of Bolero, Scorpio, XUV300, All-New Thar and the Bolero Pik-up is witnessing a huge demand with a strong pipeline of bookings.

The Upcoming Mahindra XUV500 And Other Updates

The ever-popular XUV500 will get a major update and the next-generation model will likely arrive in the showrooms in the 2021 festive season. Mahindra and Mahindra are extensively testing the next-generation XUV500 evident from the numerous spy spots of the vehicle from the various climates and geographies across the vast Indian terrain. From the spy shots it looks certain that the next-generation XUV500 will get a host of ADAS functions like adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, autonomous braking, park assist, lane keep assist and more. The headlights are C-shaped with integrated LED DRLs, LED taillamps and shark fin antenna but, it is still not clear if the SUV will get a panoramic sunroof. On the inside, the twin-screen display is very much evident, of which one will act as the driver’s instrument cluster while another as the infotainment system. In terms of mechanicals, the XUV500 might get two engine options, the mHawk 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which cranks out 180 HP of power and a 190 HP rated Stallion 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol which also powers the new Thar. Currently, the company has its full focus to deliver the all-new Thar which has a very long waiting period to the customers on time.
