2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo performance SUV revealed

Nissan has introduced the Patrol in the Nismo avatar, expanding the brand’s Nismo performance portfolio with the SUV. Nismo is Nissan’s in-house performance tuning and motorsports division and now the brand’s flagship SUV the Nissan Patrol will join the 370Z Coupe and the Nissan GT-R in the Nismo portfolio.

Design & Styling

The Nissan Patrol features sports the brand’s heritage motorsport styling with refined elements in the aerodynamics department. The Patrol Nismo now comes with a side duct to the front bumper to achieve ‘Zero Lift Force’. The Nissan Patrol Nismo features race-inspired ergonomic upgrades and comes with the V-Motion grille with a honeycomb three-dimensional mesh, new headlamps with horizontal chrome lines, a NISMO emblem, dark chrome inserts, a clamshell-style bonnet design and an overall imposing front fascia with butch looks. The rear features a new bumper which is more symmetrical in design, new taillamps and LED rear fog lights inspired by the Nissan Formula 1 car. The Patrol Nismo also comes with a red accent line running around the circumference of the SUV and 22-inch twin-tone aluminium alloy wheels with Nismo badging.

Interior Features

The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo features premium quality and crafted quilting inside the cabin, Alcantara fabric with side leather on the seats, red carbon fibre inserts, black Alcantara steering wheel and ‘Nismo’ embossed headrests. The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo also features a new centre console and the brand claims that it has worked to reduce the frame vibration, making the cabin quieter and also upgraded the AC for more cooling in the second row.

Powertrain & Mechanicals

Powering the Nissan Patrol Nismo is a 5.6-litre VVEL V8 Direct Injection petrol engine that produces 430 ps of power and 560 Nm of torque. The Patrol Nismo also comes with tuned Bilstein shock absorbers that claim to provide a stable and sporty ride. The brand has also made body structure enforcement to allow for better handling at high speeds. The thermal capacity of the brake rotors has also improved resulting in improved braking performance.

Colours, Availability & Price

The Nissan Patrol Nismo is available in three colour options – White Pearl, Black Solid, and Grey & Silver metallic colours. The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo is available in the Middle East market from April 2021, priced at AED 385,000 which translates to USD 105,000 inclusive of VAT. Rumours are that the Nissan Patrol will also come to the Indian market in the near future.
