Mahindra Electric is India’s highest-selling electric 3-wheeler company. The company closed the FY 2022 with a market share of 73.40 per cent. This results in a sales growth of 214 per cent compared to FY 2021. The current lineup of products in the electric three-wheeler segment includes the Treo auto, Treo Yaari, Treo Zor, e Alfa Mini and e Alfa Cargo. Of all, Treo is the hottest selling product that became the first Li-ion electric 3-wheeler.

Demand For Electric Commercial Vehicles
There’s a significant rise in demand for electric vehicles in the country. The trend is the same for the commercial range of vehicles as well. Mahindra mentioned that Treo is leading the passenger category segment with a market share of 70.4 per cent. In the cargo segment, the Treo Zor leads with a 52.1 per cent market share. Electric vehicles are getting increasingly popular due to increasing fuel prices. Furthermore, the Central Government is also encouraging the sale of EVs by giving necessary subsidies. Mahindra mentioned that the high reliability of the EVs, extensive service network and aggressive marketing were the key factors for its success.

With the future looking quite bright for electric vehicles, Mahindra is here to stay for long. The company has also forayed itself into the market with an empathic initial head start. With the Treo, Mahindra has stuck some exciting deals with various e-commerce and last-mile delivery companies. And with the demand reaching new highs, Mahindra will look into expanding its product portfolio. There’s a lot planned out in the EV space for the coming years.
