Mahindra Electric & Common Service Centers to promote EV adoption

Mahindra Electric, one of the upcoming giants in the EV segment, has now partnered with Common Service Centres – CSC. This is an attempt to boost EV adoption in the country. Through this association with CSC, MEML will offer their range of electric vehicles to aspiring customers in the rural markets. This includes the likes of Alfa and Treo, among others.

Electric three-wheelers are much cheaper to maintain, thus ensuring more savings. Mahindra mentioned that Treo offers savings of up to INR 5 lakh in fuel cost in 5 years. This is when compared to a diesel 3-wheeler. Meanwhile, when compared to a CNG three-wheeler, one can save up to INR 2 lakh in a span of 5 years. In the same way, Mahindra Treo Zor electric and Alfa Cargo offers savings of up to INR 60,000. This figure is for a year when compared with a diesel cargo 3-wheeler.

Electric Mobility In Rural India

With the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country, there’s a noteworthy push in the rural markets. With this initiative, electric mobility in rural India will receive a considerable boost. Being electric, the other positive aspect is the pollution level. Mahindra will also offer a platform to provide customers with an opportunity to become entrepreneurs. They can purchase multiple Mahindra Treo or Alfa electric vehicles to deploy them for pollution-free mobility/logistics operations, thus ensuring a sustainable and profitable business in the long run.

This Mahindra initiative will help customers in more than one way. Currently, more than 800 outlets sell Mahindra range of last-mile mobility products in both electric as well as conventional fuel forms. This penetration of CSC in reaching the rural markets is quite appreciable. The current network of VLEs extends to more than 4.7 Lakh individuals across the nation, while the number of CSCs is 4.5 Lakh. This rural e-mobility was kickstarted last year by CSC to promote electric vehicles and electric charging infrastructure, which is doing pretty good.
