Mahindra has unveiled two of its electric SUVs in India. The company recently launched the XUV400 EV in India and soon plans to bring its Born Electric range of SUVs as well. The BE.05 and the XUV.E9 were previously showcased in the UK.
Do note that both of these are in the concept version as of now. Hence by the time they make their way to the shelves, expect a lot of changes. These can include design as well as feature changes.
Mahindra’s INGLO Technology
The new breed of electric SUVs will be based on the Inglo platform. This includes a progressive battery technology, a platform architecture, as well as a human machine interface (HMI). Further, Mahindra also says that the name is an exchange of energy and emotion, a Glo of well-being while bringing in complete harmony .
Amongst others, the platform makes use of the Blade and Prismatic cell architectures to ensure a optimised range. One of the many benefits of this platform include fast charging. Mahindra says the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Further, a 0-100 km/h time is around 5-6 seconds ensuring that the car offers maximum performance.
The safety standards in INGLO will be class-leading. Apart from that, as mentioned previously, the platform promises to offer a thrilling performance, good range and excellent driving dynamics. Further it will come equipped with goodies like head-up display, edge-to-edge screen, 5G network capability and Over-The-Air updates.
Mahindra XUV.E9
The XUV range is going to be spawning two electric versions. One of them is the XXUV.E9. Mahindra says it is expected to go into series production by April 2025. Further, this SUV will be an all-new product, built ground-up from scratch. In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,790 mm long, 1,905 mm wide and is 1,690 mm tall. The wheelbase of the car is 2,775 mm.
Mahindra BE.05
The BE.05 is a much smaller SUV. It measures 4,370 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and is 1,635 mm tall. The wheelbase of the car is the same 2,775 mm as of the XUV.E9. Mahindra is calling this as the Sports Electric Vehicles as it is said to create its own vehicle class. It gets a racing inspired bold design.
