Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC – Highlights
Compared to the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+, the EQS 580 4MATIC looks much more subtle. The latter gets a different design for the bumper as well as the blanked-out grille. The EQS 580 4MATIC also rides on smaller 20-inch wheels with a 5-spoke design. The toned-down design of the EQS 580 4MATIC has an advantage. It has a drag coefficient of 0.20. Thus, making it the world’s most aerodynamic production car. In comparison, the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+’s drag coefficient is 0.23.
On the inside, it features Mercedes-Benz’s massive MBUX Hyperscreen. The large 56-inch curved screen extends across the length of the dashboard. It consists of a 17.7-inch central infotainment screen and two 12.3-inch screens for the driver and front passenger. Other feature highlights include air filtration, 3D Maps, a heads-up display and a Burmester 3D Surround Sound system. The EQS 580 4MATIC will also come with rear-wheel steering. However, this will be available only for the first 500 customers.
The EQS 580 4MATIC also gets a full suite of safety features. Some of these include – 9 airbags, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Attention Assist, PRE-SAFE, Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and more. Thanks to this, it also has been awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC – Powertrain, Range & Charging
The latest EV from Mercedes-Benz India uses a large 107.8 kWh battery pack. Thanks to the large battery pack and its aerodynamic shape, the EQS 580 4MATIC has become the longest-range EV in India. The EQS 580 4MATIC has an ARAI-certified range of 857 km.
The EQS 580 4MATIC makes 523 HP of peak power and 885 Nm of peak torque. All of the power and torque is sent to all four wheels via the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. This lets it accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 210 kmph.
For those quick top-ups, the EQS 580 4MATIC also supports Ultra-Fast Charging. Mercedes-Benz says using a 200 kW Ultra-Fast DC Charger, the EQS 580 4MATIC can add 300 km of range with a quick 15-minute charge.
