kWh Bikes, a Bengaluru based electric scooter startup, has registered 78,000 pre-orders. All these orders are for its upcoming electric from 75 dealers across India. Within just five months of registration opening, the company has received orders worth more than INR 1000 crores. The launch of the scooter will happen sometime in early 2023, as confirmed by kWh. The EV maker has already partnered with a host of automotive dealers and other B2B players. As of now, the company has set up its distribution centres across nine regions. This includes Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, UP, Bihar, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Rajasthan.

The company mentioned that the above 78,000 pre-orders received were without any marketing. This is a good indicator that customers are very much interested in the product. Orders received are from both overseas as well as in India. But, the company’s key main focus is the domestic Indian market. The company mentioned that they are putting together a “strong, reliable, safe, high-performance, and feature-packed electric scooter”. Taking the inspiration from the current EV offerings, which are garnering enough sales, kWh is fully determined. The target is to start off with the production in early 2023.

As of today, the kWh bike mentioned that its electric scooter will have a top speed of 75 kmph. The charging time will be 4 hours, which is significantly less than the competition. But, the range per charge is also less. The scooter, as promised by kWh, will have premium looks, high performance, strength, and technology. As of today, The company raised $2 million in a seed round. This has been led by LetsVenture, with Better Capital, Cloud Capital, Founder Backer Capital, and Faad Network, among others. Currently, the company is also looking to hire senior leadership talent in the software and battery domains.
