The 2020 KTM RC 390 is missing from the brand’s India website leading us to believe that the brand has discontinued the model in the Indian market and is likely to launch the next-generation RC 390 soon. KTM official website now only shows the 2020 KTM RC 125 and the KTM RC 200 both of which come with the new BS6 engine. The KTM RC 390 was also upgraded to BS6 emission standards at the turn of the decade which leads to speculations that the Bajaj-owned Austrian brand is now planning to introduce the 2021 KTM RC 390.
New-Generation KTM RC 390
PIERER Mobility Group in its half-yearly reports silently introduced the picture of the new-generation RC (Race Competition) model which likely to arrive in 2021. Since then images of the test mules of the motorcycle have emerged on the internet, first in the international market and then in India. Speculations are that the 2021 RC 390 is undergoing final phases of evaluation and the new-generation motorcycle will make its world debut soon.
2021 KTM RC 390
Earlier spy shots reveal that the new-generation KTM RC 390 will come with completely new bodywork, a new front fascia, new headlamps, revised taillamps, a new dashboard with a fully digital colour instruments display similar to the KTM 390 Duke/Adventure, new alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design and other minor mechanical updates. But the motorcycle is likely to carry over the same BS6 compliant 373.2cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection and liquid-cooling that produces 43 BHp of power and 35 Nm of torque. The engine will come with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch and KTM could also equip the new-generation RC 390 with a bi-directional quickshifter.
