The Kia Seltos facelift, which was launched in July 2023, has achieved a remarkable feat by crossing 1,00,000 bookings in India in just six months. The mid-size SUV has been a huge success for the Korean automaker, becoming one of the fastest-selling cars in its segment with almost 13,500 bookings every month.
Kia Seltos – What does it offer?
The Seltos facelift offers a refreshed design, new features, and advanced safety systems to attract new-age customers. The SUV is available in 16 variants, with three engine options and four transmission choices. The Seltos facelift also comes with Kia’s UVO Connect technology, which enables remote access and control of various functions through a smartphone app. The recent facelift came with ADAS features as well, with over 16 automated functions.
According to Kia India, 47 per cent of the bookings were for the variants equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which include features like blind-spot detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning. The company also said that the demand for diesel models and top-end trims was higher than expected.
Kia also introduced the traditional manual transmission in its diesel powertrain. Previously, the diesel was available in only the iMT and automatic transmissions. Kia India has also recently launched two new ADAS variants in the Seltos line-up, the GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S), which are priced at Rs. 19.40 lakh. The added variants have given the customers more options to choose from eventually adding to the sales numbers.
The Seltos facelift competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and Mahindra XUV700 in the Indian market. The SUV is priced from Rs. 10.89 lakh to Rs. 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
