According to media reports, Kia is recalling the Seltos SUV in the Indian market. The Kia Seltos recall is pertaining an issue with the engine oil pump controller, says reports. The faulty electronic oil pump controller could have irregularities that could affect the performance of the electronic oil pump.
According to reports, Kia will be notifying customer with the affected vehicles to get the oil pump controller replaced. The estimated time required to replace the faulty part is around three hours. Customers can also gets their Kia Seltos to the nearest dealerships to get the part checked and also determine if their vehicle is under the recall.
Around 4,358 Kia Seltos, in the recent past were also recalled for the same issue. However, it was then reported that the Kia Seltos with the IVT automatic transmission was affected by the recall. Reports suggested that the Seltos manufactured between the 28 February 2023 and 13 July 2023, with a CVT transmission (IVT) were under the recall.
Kia Seltos – Overview
Kia Seltos comes with three engine options. A 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that makes 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. The SUV also comes with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. In addition to this, the Seltos also gets a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine. The engine produces 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The Seltos comes with multiple gearbox options a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT (Clutchless), a 6-speed Automatic (torque convertor) and a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch) gearbox option, spread across variants.
Currently, sources do not reveal if the recall is limited only to the IVT variants or other models as well. The exact number of vehicles under the recall are also unknown. More details on the recall are likely to be available in the near future.
