Kia has unveiled its next-generation AI-powered voice assistant, designed to transform in-car connectivity and user experience. This innovative system, already available in Korea and the U.S., is now being rolled out in Europe, with plans to expand globally. The assistant aims to make vehicle interactions more intuitive and natural, setting a new benchmark for connected car technology.

What can the Kia AI voice assistant do?

The AI assistant leverages generative AI to enable smooth and conversational interactions between drivers and their vehicles. Unlike traditional voice recognition systems, Kia’s assistant understands user intent and context, allowing for more human-like responses. Drivers can activate the assistant by pressing the voice recognition button on the steering wheel or simply saying, “Hey Kia.”

The system goes beyond basic commands, offering a smarter and more helpful experience. For instance, users can ask for restaurant recommendations based on specific food preferences or inquire about vehicle features. The assistant can even provide advice on non-automotive topics, such as camping essentials or cultural customs.

Kia AI implementation

Kia’s AI assistant is integrated into the brand’s connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, ensuring seamless functionality. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates play a crucial role in enhancing the assistant’s capabilities over time, adding new features and improving performance. This ensures that users always have access to the latest advancements in voice recognition technology.

The rollout began with Kia’s EV3 models produced from March 2025 and will extend to other models equipped with the ccNC system. The assistant is designed to cater to a wide range of user needs, making everyday driving easier and more connected.

Will India get the new Kia AI voice assistant?

While the rollout in Europe has just begun, there is no news of the same coming to India yet. Given Kia’s India centric approach, we might see the tech roll out in India by the end of this year.
