Kia India recently inaugurated India’s fastest 240kWh charger for electric passenger vehicles in Kochi. This is a DC fast charging station located at Incheon Kia, Kochi. With this addition, Kia commits itself to provide customers with top-notch mobility solutions. With the rising demand for EVs, Kia is steadily building a fast charger network across the country. This will also ensure that all EV owners have access to fast charging options.
Customers can avail of this fast charging facility at the Kochi dealership by paying per usage. Kia India also has plans to accommodate the charging needs of EVs from other OEMs through these charging stations. The recent launch of Gurgaon’s fastest 150kWh charger for passenger cars in July 2022 testifies to the same. This development further cements Kia’s EV journey in India.
EV Segment Evolving In The Country
Electric vehicles are still a very new concept in India. Moreover, with massive development in this domain, this is an exciting time for EVs. Kia aims not only to be a part of the mobility revolution of EVs in India but to make EV ownership aspirational, accessible, and inclusive.
The launch of the Kia EV6 in India earlier this year is the perfect example of Kia’s philosophy. And now with the launch of this 240-kWh DC fast charger for EV passenger vehicles in Kochi adds to the experience. Kia mentioned that they are in the process of setting up more charging stations across their EV dealerships in the country. Hence Kia customers can expect a superior customer experience with reduced charging time and range anxiety.
Kia EV6
Kia India recently launched its fully global electric car, Kia EV6, for the Indian market. This vehicle uses the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform and showcases Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy. Kia EV6 comes with a certified range of 528 km on a full charge. With charging time from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 18 minutes using a 350-kW charger, EV6 looks quite promising. Kia confirmed that as part of its EV roadmap, Kia will launch its India-centric EV by 2025 in the country.
