Kia India has surpassed the 1 lakh export figure. This has come up just 29 months since Kia started shipping orders to the international market. As of today, Kia India exports to over 91 countries across the world. This includes regions of the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, and Asia-Pacific.

Kia India exports both the Seltos and Sonet from the Indian market, with a share of exports as 77% and 23%, respectively. For the entire CY 2021, Kia India exported over 46,261 units which translated to a growth of 23 per cent year-over-year increase. Furthermore, Kia India also became the number 1 UV exporter in the country, with a market share of over 25%. In the PV segment, the brand also ranked, thus acquiring a market share of close to 9%.

Kia India Strengthens Its ‘Make In India’ Vision

Following the central government’s vision of ‘Make In India’, Kia’s export figures perfectly resonate with the same. In 2017, Kia India signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. Under this, the carmaker set up its new manufacturing facility in the Anantapur district. The mass production from this facility started in August 2019 with an annual production capacity of 3,00,000 units. Then in April 2021, Kia incorporated its new identity with the tag ‘Movement that Inspires’. Under this, Kia aims to set out to find ways to achieve new benchmarks and inspire consumers to be more and do more.

Kia India Current Lineup Of Product

With three products on offer, namely Sonet, Seltos and Carnival, Kia India is selling in huge numbers. Spearheading the sales is Seltos, which is putting a tough competition to its sibling Creta for the crown of most sold SUV in the country. Soon, Kia India will add its fourth product to its portfolio, in the form of Carens. The MPV has already been unveiled, but Kia has not disclosed the pricing as of yet. With four products under its belt, Kia is fully prepared to take on the Indian market.
