Kia has announced that the brand is entering the EV segment in the Indian market. The South-Korean brand claims to be the fastest-growing carmaker in the country and is now bringing the Kia EV6 pure-electric vehicle to India. The Kia EV6 is a globally acclaimed BEV and Kia’s first electric vehicle.
Kia EV6 – Bookings Open in India
Kia has announced that the brand will be bringing only limited units of the EV6 electric vehicle. The bookings for the Kia EV6 will be open from 26th May 2022. In addition to this, the brand also announced that the market launch of the EV6 will take place soon after the commencement of bookings. However, Kia has not revealed the number of units the brand plans to bring to the Indian soil.
What is Kia EV6?
The Kia EV6 made its world debut in March 2021 and was lauded for its design, quality, and features. Kia also boasts that the EV6 is the most hi-tech Kia ever made. In addition to this, the brand also reveals that the EV6 is built on Kia’s new dedicated EV platform E-GMP offering premium mobility along with sustainability. The electric car claims to be a “game-changer” in the EV segment and features a long driving range as well as ultra-fast charging capabilities. The futuristic electric vehicle also boasts offering spacious and high-tech interiors. Recently, the Kia EV6 also won the coveted European Car of the Year 2022.
Kia EV6 – Powertrain & Features
The Kia EV6 comes with and 400-Volt to 800-Volt electric architecture. The car comes with a 229 PS electric motor sending power to the rear wheels. The brand also offers an AWD model with a 325 PS electric motor. The EV6 also comes with a 58.0 kWh high-voltage battery pack as standard. Kia is also offering a long-range pack of 77.4 kWh. The Kia EV6 features a 12-inch dual screen panoramic curved high-definition display. This includes a sophisticated AVN infotainment + navigation system and haptic buttons for climate control. The electric vehicle also gets an augmented reality (AR) head-up display system, ADAS (Advanced Driver’s Assistance System) and ‘Kia Connect’.
