Hyundai recently unveiled the Staria premium MPV in the international market. The brand also announced that the Staria MPV will be available through Purpose Built Vehicles (PBVs) in the near future. This means that the MPV will provide a more productive and comfortable time in transit. Hyundai also announced that the Staria MPV is designed for both family and business use. Now the Hyundai Staria has made its official debut and the Korean brand now reveals all the details of the premium SUV. The Hyundai Staria will go on sale in select markets starting from the second half of 2021.
The Hyundai Staria will come in two variants – Staria and Staria Premium. The brand will offer 2- to 11-seat configurations with the Staria and the MPV will come with variant-exclusive finishes. The 2- and 3-seater variants come with a maximum cargo space of almost 5,000 litres and are able to carry three Euro pallets. The 7-seat Premium model features Premium Relaxation Seats in the second row. The seats come with an electronic recline and sliding function as well as a one-touch relaxation mode. The brand claims that even in the recline mode, an adult passenger can sit comfortably in the third row.
The 9-seat Premium model gets individual seats in the second row which can swivel 180 degrees to face passengers in the third row. This marks the Staria Premium ideal for corporate vehicles or mobile offices. Passengers can conduct a meeting in this seating configuration. Families can also use this function to have interactions and conversations like never before. Thanks to the long 3,273-mm wheelbase, the overall length of 5,253 mm and width of 1,997 mm the Staria features such roomy interiors.
The Hyundai Staria comes with a 2.2-litre VGT diesel engine and also a 3.5-litre petrol engine. The diesel motor produces 177 PS of power and 431 Nm of torque while the petrol engine makes 272 PS of power and 331 Nm of torque. Both engines come with 8-speed automatic transmission.
