Hyundai reveals Staria premium MPV

Recently, Hyundai released a few teaser images of the brand’s upcoming new premium MPV, ‘Staria’. Now Hyundai is sharing a few details of the new Staria before its digital world premiere slated for the first half of 2021. In the future mobility era, the Staria will be available through Purpose Built Vehicles (PBVs) and provides a glimpse of the space innovation that will be available. The Hyundai Staria makes time in transit more productive and comfortable and is designed for both families and businesses.

Exterior Design & Styling

Hyundai has taken the inside-out approach, a new design theory that begins with designing the interiors which than expands to the exteriors. The new methodology is in-line with the current trend shift where consumers prioritise the use of interior space. The Hyundai Staria draws its exterior design inspiration from spaceships and features horizontal daytime running lights that stretch across the width of the vehicle, bold and wide radiator grille with a unique pattern, low-set headlamps positioned in a vertical cube array flanking the bumper, lower beltlines offering a panoramic view through the windows, vertical tail lamps and lowered loading lip.

The higher-spec variant features a variant-exclusive mesh on the radiator grille, chrome line around the cube-type full-LED headlamps, tinted brass chrome applied to the Hyundai emblem and the same treatment continues on the front, trim specific 18-inch alloy wheels with diamond patterns and graphics, side mirrors and door handles. The Staria Premium also features a unique Parametric Pixel design and lamp-shape garnish on the tail lamp top. This special treatment reverberates with Staria Premium’s special status.

Interior Features

The Hyundai Staria draws the interior design inspiration from the lounge of a cruise ship and comes with lower beltlines and expansive panoramic windows, a high-tech look in the driver-focused cockpit, a digital instruments cluster located far on top of the dash giving the driver a better peripheral vision, 10.25-inch front touchscreen infotainment, a button-type electronic shift lever, an overhead console with storage spaces, centre console box with more storage and cup holder, USB charging etc. The Staria will come in the 2-seater to 11-seater options.

Staria Premium Interiors

In the Premium trim, the Staria features seating for 9 people with the second row having the ability to swivel 180 degrees to face passengers in the third row. This allows the passengers to talk to each other face to face. The Premium MPV also gets 64-ambient lighting, positioned in the cockpit, floor console, door and luggage trim setting the mood and atmosphere inside the cabin. The brand has also announced that the high-end Premium variant will be available in 7-, 9- and 11-seat configurations with exclusive design cues and interior upgrades.
