Hyundai Motors India Limited registers a cumulative sales of 61,800 units for the month of February 2021. In comparison to the corresponding month in 2020 (February 2020) the brand shows a double-digit growth of 26.4%. According to the brand, the entire car portfolio recorded growth and the list of ‘Super Performers’ include the Hyundai Creta mid-size SUV, the Hyundai Venue compact SUV, the new Hyundai Verna sedan, the Hyundai i10 Grand NIOS and the all-new Hyundai i20 which is also the recipient of the Indian Car of the Year 2021 (ICOTY).
Sales Volumes
In the month of February 2021, Hyundai registered 51,600 sales as compared to 40,010 units sold in February 2020 in the domestic market, showing 29% growth in the sector. The brand also registers 10,200 in exports in February 2021 compared to 8,900 units in exports in February 2020, showing 14.6% growth in the sector. Both the domestic as well as export market sales show a healthy double-digit growth showing an all-round improvement in buyer sentiment in February 2021.
Hyundai Alcazar
The brand recently revealed the name of the upcoming premium 7-seater, dubbed Alcazar and announced that the premium 7-seater SUV will be a Made in India, Made First for India car. The name Alcazar draws inspiration from the royal genealogy of Castles and Palaces and symbolises reliability, beauty, spaciousness, durability and indulgence. The upcoming 7-seater Alcazar boasts to match the expectations of ‘Sophisticated, Innovative and Tech Savvy Customers’. While Hyundai did not reveal much about the Alcazar, according to spy shots and market speculation the 7-seater SUV will be based on the Hyundai Creta (5-seater) SUV and comes with extended overhangs to accommodate the extra row of seats. The Alcazar will also come with differentiating factors on the front and completely unique styling in the rear end. As of now, the brand has only released a teaser video and confirmed that the 7-seater premium will make its global debut soon. More details on the Hyundai Alcazar are awaited.
