Hyundai has refreshed the Santro variant line-up by replacing the entry-level D-Lite with the Era Executive which now makes the starting price of the Hyundai Santro INR 4.15 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi which is INR 25,000 more than the earlier D-Lite trim which was priced starting INR 3.90 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The new entry-level trim Era Executive sits below the Era trim which has been discontinued.

The Era Executive trim features body-coloured bumpers, power steering, manual air-conditioner, front power windows, but lacks the rear AC vents which were available on the Era trim. In terms of safety, the Era Executive gets a standard driver’s side airbag, ABS with EBD and is likely to be updated soon with rear parking sensors and speed alert system.

In the engine department, the car remains untouched and is still powered by a 1,086cc, 4-cylinder, 12-valve/3 valves per cylinder SOHC petrol engine producing 69 PS of power @ 5500 RPM and 99 Nm of torque @ 4500 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional AMT gearbox. The Santro is also available in a Bi-Fuel – Petrol/CNG option on the same engine which makes 59 PS of power and 84.3 Nm of torque available with a 5-speed manual.

Apart from the Era Executive trim, the Hyundai Santro comes with Magna, Sportz and Asta trim options which come with features like steering mounted controls, Bluetooth audio system as well as safety features like reverse sensors, over-speed alert and seat belt reminders apart from the ABS with EBD and driver’s side airbag which is standard across the range.

In terms of competition the Hyundai Santro competes with Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki WagonR.
