Honda reveals X-ADV 150cc scooter

Honda has unveiled the 2019 X-ADV 150 scooter at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The X-ADV 150 adventure scooter is inspired by its bigger sibling, the X-ADV available in the European market.

The larger brother is powered by a 745cc, twin-cylinder and comes with a more off-road spec design and equipment such as spoked wheels, higher ground clearance, high-mount exhaust end can, etc. The 150cc X-ADV is more road specific and gets alloy wheels, a conventional telescopic suspension on the front and a gas-charged spring-type suspension on the rear. But overall the silhouette matches with the larger 745cc scooter, but gets subtle changes on the hardware to easily differentiate between them.

Powering the X-ADV 150 is a 149.3cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC engine that produces 14.7 HP of power and 13.8 Nm of torque paired to a V-Matic transmission.

In terms of mechanical hardware, the bike gets a single disc brake on the front and back in a petal-design rotor equipped with CBS and an optional ABS unit. The scooter gets 14-inch front and 13-inch rear alloy wheels shod in dual-sport tubeless tyres and the above-mentioned suspension set up. The scooter measures 1950mm in length, 763mm in width, 1153mm in height. The scooter also gets a fully digital negative backlit LCD instrument cluster.

In terms of competition, the Honda X-ADV if launched in the Indian market will compete with the Aprilia SR 150 but it is highly unlikely as the market sees only a handful of sales every year in the big scooter segment.
