Hyundai has introduced the new IONIQ 5 in the international market with a makeover inside out. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is already a futuristic car which deviates very less from its concept. Now, the Korean brand has managed to refresh its design with new front and rear bumpers as well as a new dashboard. While the updates are currently limited only to the international markets Hyundai could bring the updated IONIQ 5 to India as well owing to its popularity.
The new Hyundai IONIQ 5 now comes with a new front bumper with a design that draws inspiration from the IONIQ 5 N Line. The reshaped front and rear bumpers also mean that the new IONIQ 5 is now 20mm longer than the outgoing model. In addition to this, Hyundai is also offering the new IONIQ 5 with a wider spoiler which is 50mm wider and new design alloy wheel option. Furthermore, the new IONIQ 5 also gets a rear wash wipe which has been missing from the current car.
On the inside, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 now comes with extra buttons for shortcuts to frequently-used items. The AC control panel is now larger and offers more physical buttons. The centre console also comes with a refreshed design and gets wireless charging pad. But the biggest change is the new Digital ORVMs. The ORVMs display is mounted on the door and offers a clear and unobstructed rear view.
While the IONIQ 5 is likely to use the same powertrain as before. Hyundai has revealed that the brand has upgraded the battery capacity. This leads us to believe that the new IONIQ 5 will come with an increased all-electric range. However, Hyundai has not revealed the difference in range of the new IONIQ 5.
The brand will be launching the EV in South Korea this month followed by its global launch later in 2024.
