For the past few years, there has been a significant shift in customer buying behaviour. Given the road conditions of India, buying an SUV makes a lot of sense. The high ground clearance added with other SUV-like design elements makes the car much bigger than its sedan’s counterpart. This gives the customer a sense of pride in owning a bigger car.

Moreover, carmakers these days are increasingly investing in the RD of SUVs. This is also evident from the fact that almost all the newly launched cars in recent times are SUVs. Furthermore car manufacturers like Tata, Nissan and Renault have launched SUV-like products in the form of Punch, Magnite and Kiger at a much affordable budget. Going forward, the demand and sales of SUVs will only go stronger from here, and there are no two ways about it.
