The all-new Hyundai Creta, the country’s top-selling SUV crosses the 1.21 lakh mark in terms of the number of units sold since its launch in 2020. The first generation of the Creta was first introduced in 2015 and since then a total of 5.8 lakh units have been sold in the Indian market. Hyundai Motors India Limited, the country’s largest exporter mentioned that it exported around 2.16 lakh units of Creta from India.
India’s Most Loved SUV – All-New Creta
Hyundai mentions that of all the variants, the top-spec SX and SX(O) contribute to almost 51 per cent of the sales. Most car companies are staying away from diesel power mills but the South Korean carmaker is not on the same page and continues to provide multiple diesel engines in its lineup of products. In fact, the 1.5 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine contributes close to 60 per cent of the total sales of Creta which is quite a remarkable figure. This is also one of the main reasons why Creta is able to register such a large volume of sales. The automatic trims account for a healthy 20 per cent of the sales which suggest that customers are slowly transitioning from manual to the automatic gearbox.
