Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently conducted the National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. As part of this, the main aim was to impart knowledge on the need for road safety. The event was for a period of 2 days (30th and 31st May) at the Raja Shiv Prasad College. A total of over 1,500 college students and staff members participated in this 2-day event. HMSI’s road safety personnel imparted knowledge on safe riding practices, thus enhancing the retention of road safety awareness among all.
Key Highlights Of The Event
The participants first realised the safety learning through theory sessions on road signs and markings, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear, posture explanation and safe riding etiquette. It was followed by practical learning of the same by using Honda’s virtual riding simulator. This simulator also executed over 100 possible dangers on the road before actual riding.
Participants were also taught about danger prediction training, known as Kiken YosokuTraining (KYT). This knowledge helps in enhancing rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving action on roads. The school and staff members also went through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks to test and hone their riding skills. HMSI also conducted fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes to engage with the riders.
