Honda top-selling products City and Amaze, are selling in good numbers. Given the downfall in the demand for sedans in the market, Honda should think of introducing a new SUV in its portfolio. As per sources, the company is planning to launch an SUV sometime in 2023. And this could potentially replace the WR-V that is currently on sale. Moreover, sources also suggest that Honda might introduce a mid-size SUV as well. If launched, this SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the MG Astor.
Honda will most likely equip this mid-size SUV with both petrol and diesel motor in form of the 1.5-litre unit that does the duty in the City. Moreover, Honda has already trademarked the “Elevate” nameplate in India. And this could mean that this SUV could wear the “Elevate” nameplate. With the rise in the demand for 7-seater SUVs, Honda could experiment in this segment as well. And we won’t be surprised if Honda brings in a 7-seater derivative of this new SUV. As of now, there’s no official statement from the Japanese carmaker. But we expect Honda to come up with some updates in the near future.
