Harley-Davidson reveals it’s new adventure class motorcycle at the H-D-21 virtual event, a one of a kind digital event in the brand’s 118-year-old history. The explore-it-all machine comes features ADV styling and comes with a plethora of features that enable the rider to take the detour while touring. The motorcycle can run both on and off-road and the motorcycle is the brand’s first adventure class motorcycle that has been designed and built in America. The Harley-Davidson Pan America is available in two trims – Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special.
Powertrain, Chassis & Suspension
Powering the Harley-Davidson Pan America is a new Revolution Max 1250 series liquid-cooled V-twin cylinder motor with 1252cc of displacement that pumps 150 Hp of power. The engine integrates into the vehicle as the central member of the chassis keeping the mass centralised and the weight to the minimum. The chassis rides on an electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension with an industry-first Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), that automatically transitions between a low position when the motorcycle stops and an optimal ride height setting when the motorcycle is in motion. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels strengthened to go off-the-road such as gravel roads and fire roads. The electronic suspension is available on the Pan America 1250 Special variant. But even as standard the Pan America 1250 features multiple electronically-controlled ride modes as well as Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements.
Features
The Harley-Davidson Pan America features a tilting 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen instruments cum infotainment system with a non-reflective glass cover that enables the rider to view the information in almost all lighting conditions. The display connects to the rider’s Bluetooth-equipped mobile device, for calls and music. The touchscreen display also features Harley-Davidson Navigation using the brand’s app for both iOS and Android. The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 models include Road, Sport, Rain, Off-Road and Off-Road Plus that integrates with Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS). Pan America also comes with all-LED lighting and a lot more.
Colours
The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is available in the Vivid Black, River Rock Gray with Medallion colour options while the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special is available in the Vivid Black, Gauntlet Gray Metallic, two-tone Baja Orange and Stone Washed White Pearl and a Deadwood Green (available in select international markets only). All colour options in the Special variant come with a Split Graphic.
